AN INTRODUCTION TO PIERRE BOURDIEU'S IDEALIZED REFLECTIVE SOCIOLOGY

Abstract

The article discusses the reflective sociology idealized by Pierre Bourdieu, initially analyzing its contours and precepts, exposing how the author structured the sociology of sociology. It addresses the formulation of the sociological basis from which a unified social science is conceived, that is, a social studies program with the ambition of integrating the contribution of other sciences. This implies the construction of the research objective and the search for objectivation of the participant (knowing subject) with rejection of theory without empirical application; of methodological monotheism; of the scholastic errors that start from the denial of a relational thought. Finally, we seek to understand how the sociology idealized by Pierre Bourdieu enables an objective knowledge of the societal world without the influence of the conditioning of social scientists.
